Borneo Bengkel is a platform founded in 2017 with the aim to unite creatives from throughout the regions of Borneo: namely Sabah and Sarawak (Malaysia), Kalimantan (Indonesia), and Brunei.
Through our activities we explore identity, culture and creative expression through the eyes of artists, filmmakers, social activists, researchers and cultural practitioners.

 

Borneo Laboratory

Borneo Laboratory is a multidisciplinary platform for the experimentation of Borneo Aesthetics - an aesthetic that emphasizes collaboration and open dialogue. Our movement has been inspired by the idea of ‘Berjalai’- con­versing with the world, which is also a deep-rooted cultural ideal in the Borneo landscape.

 

HAUS KCH

Kuching, Sarawak

Founded in 2017, HAUS KCH (or HAUS) is a community-led initiative located in City Square, Kuching. Our aim is to create a vibrant space for local creatives and entrepreneurs. Operating as a hub, we organise diverse physical and virtual events such as residencies, exhibitions, and workshops to showcase local talents and engage the community.

Society for Equality, Respect And Trust for All Sabah (SERATA)

Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

We are an organization that promotes gender equality by bringing boys and men into the conversation. We focus on a bigger picture narrative, where we talk about healthy relationships, safer workplaces, engaged fatherhood to make gender equality relevant to everyone regardless of gender. We work with universities, colleges and also other CSOs to reach our goals.
